A woman and her young daughter, Watermelon Seed, live in a grey city shaped by poverty. The child senses the tension beneath everyday routine.

 

As the world around them grows harsher and unpredictable, the girl’s imagination begins to merge with reality. The city awakens: streets gain faces and creatures emerge. For the child, fantasy becomes a way to survive what she cannot yet understand.

 

When her father suddenly returns, the fragile balance of the family collapses. The mother struggles to protect her daughter. The child is forced to cross an inner threshold — a moment of separation that marks the loss of innocence and the beginning of autonomy.
