LOVE GROWS BIGGER

I started to paint series of watercolor miniatures to celebrate growing up of my child and her adventures in world discovery. My first miniatures on paper dates back to 2013

A long time ago I was in love with Persian miniatures from 15th century, so incredibly small, so detailed, with beautiful, delicate colors.

When my daughter was born and learned to walk I noticed what a true miracle is the sight of the first flower, the first beetle, the first falling leave in the first autumn. The magic of the very first time came over me and I revived my long-forgotten passion for miniature art. Only problem was, adventures fled like birds and I had chosen such a time - consuming technique for my work. I could not do otherwise : these paintings had to be as childish, sweet and naive as possible and my tiny brushwork had to express my emotions.

I use watercolor, acrylic, crayons and pastels on paper to recreate her miraculous world in a surreal manner. Sometimes I add a crocheted silk lace, it serves as a frame and at the same time underlines the patience and delicacy of the painting itself.
